Mira Hotel Hong Kong Review

The Mira Hong Kong is a luxury 5 star hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui of Hong Kong.

There are almost countless luxury hotels to choose from when you visit Hong Kong. For someone like me who does not cope well with too many choices, it took a long painful process of elimination before I chose the Mira Hotel Hong Kong, a luxury design hotel in the heart of Kowloon in Hong Kong.

After a 13 hours long-haul flight, I sank in the back of a much-needed taxi and was really looking forward to a hot shower and freshen up.

When the taxi pulled up to the front of Mira Hotel Hong Kong, I was relieved to see that the hotel looked exactly as I imagined it to be with sleek dark surfaces and bold lighting dotted across the entire space.

Mira Hotel’s Location and Proximity to Sightseeing in Hong Kong

It was a bit of a hard choice for me on whether to stay on the Kowloon side or Hong Kong island side of HK. I ended up opting for a bit of both. So for the first leg of my journey, I decided to stay over at Kowloon, the hustle bustle older district of Hong Kong. And believe it or not, Kowloon operates at a slower pace compared to the frantic speed of Hong Kong island. At the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, there are ample of recommended long-standing eateries near the Mira Hotel, and of course lots of shopping and nightlife.

We checked in at the hotel at 4pm in the afternoon and was quickly whisked away to our room on the 9th floor with a view overlooking the calming tropical oasis of Kowloon park. Talk about Asian efficiency and hospitality!

The View

The park opposite the Mira Hotel was a lovely spot for early morning runs to clear my head as well as to work off all the lovely food I had in Hong Kong so far. For some others, this could also be a place to join in an impromptu Tai Chi class with the locals.

The Room

As a luxury design hotel, I was happy to see the stylish elements of furnishing placed around the room. Mine came with a bright green Arne Jacobsen egg chair, a huge modern design statement. What really blew me away was this impressive rain shower! After dancing around in the torrential downpour in the shower, I then hopped and jumped into the heavenly soft and lush bed.

This bed at the Mira Hotel was comparable to a lot of other luxury hotels I have stayed at, with the silky smooth sheets wrapping me up like a cocoon. Much needed after a long flight.

I’m a big fan of getting some fresh air after arrival in a new city to get used to the surroundings as well as help to alleviate jet lag (see my previous post here). I couldn’t be happier with the location to explore around the Mira Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong.

As I like to stay close to the action, Mira Hotel has its own mall attached with Michelin star restaurants (such as Cuisine Cuisine) within the complex. Around the area, there are at least two other malls down the street with international and local brands, as well as great night time street food markets within walking distance. With Hong Kong island just a ferry ride or two underground stops away on the MTR, I can always hop across the harbour if I felt like it.

Amenities and Facilities at The Mira Hotel Hong Kong

Within the hotel, there is a 24 hours gym, a beautiful pool, sauna/steam, jacuzzi, and an award winning spa. Just in case the heat wave and hectic city life got a bit overwhelming!

My favourite part of the amenities, was the tablet provided for the duration of my stay which allowed access to free WiFi at any part of HK as a WiFi hotspot for my own digital devices. Also included were free calls to domestic and international locations, which made meeting up with HK based friends a cinch! Being a blogger, the access to WiFi in an international destination was a lifesaver, and I didn’t have to feel like I was cut off from my social media addictions. 🙂

A great stay at the Mira Hotel Hong Kong. I highly recommend paying Kowloon side of Hong Kong a visit while you are here!
